One of my greatest accomplishments. While working with Highcountry Timberframe and Gallery Woodworking, I was chosen to be the foreman of this project for the New York Botanical Garden. The project consisted of fabricating four decorative Japanese garden pavilions know as uwaya. Working from traditional drawings, Tom Owens designed these buildings to not only be transported from North Carolina to New York but to be assembled and disassembled and stored every year for the Kiku Festival, a Japanese tribute to the chrysanthemum. Working with our talented crew, my job was coordinate fabrication, keep the project on schedule, layout timbers to be cut, fit all the components on to a tractor trailer and assist with assembly on site. Thank you Highcountry Timberframe and Gallery Woodworking for this opportunity.
