This one of a kind kitchen was created by BKCW for Sisler Builders and their client.
I feel very fortunate to be apart of this project as I was able to work closely with the client to create their dream kitchen. During the construction phase, I took field measurements and met with the client to determine the overall appearance, layout of the cabinets and material to be used. Their desire was to have a rustic barn wood look and I was able to find a supplier in Oregon called Hewn who is taking new cedar and distressing it to look like barn wood. With this product, I was able to capture the rustic feel of barn wood without the chemicals and debris found with real barn wood. During the design phase, careful attention and consideration went into the layout of the cabinets and how the kitchen would be used on a daily basis. One important detail was allowing proper distance for the dishwasher door to be in the open position and have the drawers behind open as well for unloading the clean dishes. This kitchen also has a custom designed utensil and knife drawer and cabinet for a Kitchen Aid mixer and its attachments. Upon completion, the planning and attention to detail was noted by the client as they are thrilled with the function, flow and craftsmanship that went into their kitchen. This kitchen was finished by spraying EnviroVar, a conversion varnish that meets indoor air quality certification. Maple bar top and brackets were created and installed by Sisler Builders. Thank you Sisler Builders and their client for choosing me to be apart of this project.
